Finding a Football Team for Your Child

If you are trying to find a local football team for your child, we can point you in the right direction.

The easiest way to find a team is through the official England Football search tool.

✅ Step 1: Search for Teams Near You

Use the Find Football tool from England Football.

What to do:

  1. Enter your postcode

  2. Select “Find a team”

  3. Use the filters to choose:

    • Your child’s age

    • Boys’, Girls’ or Mixed football

This will show you:

  • Local clubs

  • Training locations

  • Contact details for each club

✅ Step 2: Girls-Only Sessions (Ages 5–11)

If your child is a girl aged 5–11, you can also look for Weetabix Wildcats sessions.

These are:

  • Fun, friendly and beginner-focused

  • Non-competitive

  • A great first step into football

To find Wildcats sessions:

  • Use the same Find Football tool

  • Select “Wildcats” in the filters

✅ Step 3: Contact the Club

Once you find a club you like:

  • Contact the club directly using the details provided

  • Ask:

    • If they have spaces available

    • When they train

    • What age group your child would join

✅ Important Things to Know

  • Children in Year 2 usually play Under-7s football

  • Some clubs offer training-only sessions at first

  • Spaces can be limited, so it’s a good idea to contact more than one club
