If your coach or club administrator has updated your role from Official to Player, but you’re still unable to access the Club Portal, the issue is likely linked to how your roles are set up in the FA system.
1️⃣ Common Reasons You Can’t Access the Portal
Player-only accounts do not have portal access
The Club Portal is primarily for club officials (e.g., Secretary, Manager, Coach, Welfare Officer).
Being registered only as a player does not automatically grant login access to manage or view club information.
Role change not fully processed
If a role was recently updated, it can take 24–48 hours for the FA system to refresh permissions.
Multiple FANs or incorrect details
If you have more than one FAN number or your email address isn’t linked correctly to your official role, you may not see the portal.
2️⃣ How to Resolve the Issue
Confirm Your Role
Ask your club administrator to check you are registered in Club Portal with an official role (such as Team Manager, Coach, or Club Secretary).
Player-only registrations do not allow access.
Allow Time for Updates
Wait up to 48 hours after changes are made for permissions to update in the system.
Clear Browser Cache / Use a Different Browser
Sometimes cached data can stop updated permissions from showing.
Check Your FAN Account Details
Make sure your email and FAN are linked correctly to your official role.
3️⃣ If the Problem Persists
If you still can’t access the Club Portal after the above steps:
Contact support@staffordshirefa.com with:
Your Full Name
FAN Number (if known)
Club Name
Role you should have access under
We can check your record in the FA system and, if needed, escalate the issue to FA Technology Support.
